Happy Holiday Travel at the Ottawa International Airport

“We are working closely with all carriers to ensure that we have appropriate staff levels in all areas of airport operations, in an effort to ensure that all travellers are processed through check-in and security efficiently” said Ottawa Airport President and CEO, Paul Benoit.
“We need everyone’s cooperation” he added. “We encourage travellers to included wrapped gifts in their checked baggage, and ask that carry-on luggage be free of any objects such as scissors, letter openers, pocket knives and other such materials. If they have any questions concerning carry-on restrictions, we recommend they contact their airline. With everyone’s help, holiday travel will be enjoyable and relaxing.”
Due to increased passenger volume, travellers are asked to arrive at the airport earlier than they normally would to account for the anticipated traffic levels in the terminal. In the event of poor weather, flight information will be available by checking either individual carriers, or the Ottawa International Airport website at www.ottawa-airport.ca.
OMCIAA operates Ottawa International Airport without government subsidies under a 60-year lease transfer agreement with Transport Canada. The Authority’s mandate is to manage, operate and develop Airport facilities and lands in support of the economic growth of the National Capital Region. Its 40-year old terminal building was last expanded in 1987. Since that time, passenger traffic has increased over 35%.
