December 15, 2005 (Ottawa) – The Ottawa International Airport Authority would like to wish all travellers a safe and pleasant trip this holiday season. They offer the following tips to help make the experience more relaxing and enjoyable:

 Plan extra time into your trip to the airport and drive carefully; the roadways in and around the airport will be busier, particularly if there is bad weather to contend with;

 Plan extra time for check-in and pre-board screening as the terminal will also be busier with more travellers and meeters/greeters;

 Get the most up-to-date information concerning your flight by checking with your airline, travel agent, or via the airport’s website at www.ottawa-airport.ca;

 Pack your luggage carefully, and use the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority’s (CATSA) list of prohibited items to determine whether you pack certain things in your carry-on or your checked luggage. This list can be found at http://www.catsa-acsta.gc.ca/english/travel_voyage/list.htm. You may also dial the toll free number 1 888 294-2202;

 Don’t wrap gifts before you travel – they may be opened for a more detailed inspection;

 Have complete documentation ready and available for check-in and pre-board screening and Customs Agents as applicable; and

 The Airport Authority will have volunteers on hand during peak times to provide assistance to travellers.
Above all, the Airport Authority would like to wish its customers Season’s Greetings and a Happy New Year.
